A Busy Time for Mack’s Actor
Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has had a whirlwind few weeks, both on and off screen. Fans of the ITV soap were left stunned when it appeared his character, Mackenzie Boyd, had been brutally killed by John Sugden. In dramatic scenes, Mack was shot with an arrow before John stood over him with a heavy rock, seemingly ending his life.
But in a twist that had viewers gasping, recent episodes revealed Mack is very much alive. He’s being held captive in an underground bunker, a storyline that has gripped the village and left fans desperate to see how he’ll escape.

A Wardrobe Blunder Before Lorraine
Away from the fictional chaos of the Dales, Lawrence faced a much lighter drama. Appearing on Lorraine on Monday morning (September 1), the actor almost didn’t make it to air in the right clothes.
Lorraine Kelly teased him live on the show, saying:
“I’m so glad that you’re sitting there looking so refined, so elegant, so beautiful. Can I tell the nation that you forgot your clothes this morning?”
Lawrence laughed, admitting he had turned up wearing only his sports gear. Thankfully, his girlfriend Pamela Blair, a West End performer, came to the rescue.
Pamela Blair Saves the Day
Pamela, who recently appeared in The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical, proved herself a true lifesaver. Lawrence explained that she rushed back home mid-journey, grabbed his forgotten outfit, and even hopped on the Tube to deliver it.
“My gorgeous girlfriend left halfway through our car journey here and went back to the house to grab it and then got the tube here… it was very dramatic. She’s a keeper,” Lawrence proudly shared.
Lorraine praised Pamela’s quick thinking, adding that he looked “spectacularly gorgeous” despite the last-minute chaos.
Family Life and Pet Troubles
During the interview, Lawrence also revealed a more personal challenge — his dog’s recent health scare. His beloved cockapoo underwent surgery over the weekend after a grass seed embedded itself in his paw.
“He unfortunately had to have a little operation the day before yesterday. He’s okay. He had a grass seed that got inside one of his paws and they had to operate and take it out,” Lawrence explained.
The actor described the late-night trip to pick up his pet: “We went to pick him from the vet at like 11pm and I had to carry him back the whole way. He’s a wee dream.”
What’s Next for Mackenzie Boyd?
Of course, talk soon returned to the Emmerdale storyline that has everyone talking. Lawrence admitted that even reading the scripts left him shocked. At first, he thought his time on the soap was up.
“It was a shocker reading it. Initially I read it and I was like, ‘Oh, they’ve just not told me that I’m dying’. There’s more to come. There’s a lot of drama still to come. [Mack’s] definitely not out of the woods,” he teased.
The actor also praised his co-star Ollie, who plays John Sugden, saying their intense bunker scenes were tough but rewarding: “Shooting it with Ollie was amazing, but it was a long time to be in that bunker.”
A Mixture of Glamour and Grit
Between his glamorous girlfriend rescuing him from a fashion disaster and the gritty twists of his soap storyline, Lawrence Robb is balancing real-life romance with onscreen danger. Fans will be watching closely to see how Mackenzie Boyd’s fight for survival unfolds — and whether Lawrence has any more offscreen blunders to laugh about next time.
